The Introverted Influencer
Done Is Better Than Perfect
Show Notes Transcript

In the first ever episode of the Introverted Influencer podcast,  I am sharing one of the most important obstacles to overcome if you want any chance of maintaining your sanity,  reaching your dreams, or monetizing your passion.

This was recorded on my phone without any fancy equipment, so it's freakin' raw, ya'll.  Also, if you have little ones nearby, you may want to listen with headphones. I am a potty mouth.

If you found this episode inspiring, it would mean so much if you could give this episode a five star review and/or screenshot the episode and tag me on Instagram (@designingvibes).

Speaker 1:

Hello, welcome to the very first episode of the introverted influencer podcast. I'm your host Erica van. Like my soul's mission on this planet is to help fellow introverts grow their online influence in state of feminine flow and ease while battling the lows of depression, anxiety, and mom guilt. I've managed to build a six figure blog without the use of traditional media and without sacrificing my mental health, if I can do it, you can too. Okay guys. So I don't even have any intro music<laugh> I don't have any editing software. I am literally just talking into my outdated iPhone<laugh> and I can't even believe what the I'm doing right now, because I am such a freaking introvert. Speaking is like my biggest fear in the entire world. And I'm sitting here and I just randomly decided to start a freaking podcast, which in a sense, I'm not that surprised. This is how my six figure blog was founded as well. It was six years ago. I was pregnant with my second child and horribly, horribly depressed. It felt like my life was just lacking purpose. I was working for someone else. I always felt undervalued and just like, life was not clicking. It wasn't painting out the way I had imagined it. And one day I got this download and I couldn't deny it. It was a download from what I would consider source saying, start a blog. And then I thought, okay, I, I can do that, but what's the name gonna be? What's the URL gonna be? And I guess a day later, the, the, the download came to me again, designing vibes. So that is my blog. And I have been doing that for six years now. I, at this point I'm only working about eight hours a week on my blog and I've hit the six figure mark. So what I want the lesson to be today, and this first podcast is that done is better than perfect. I'm sitting here. I don't know how to edit a podcast.

Speaker 2:

I have no intro. I have no intro music. I don't even know where this is gonna go. I'm gonna have to look up the steps on Google university to find out how I even get this on the major podcast platforms, but I'm going to do it anyhow is better than perfect. If I sit around and I overanalyze this and I try to be a perfectionist and wait until it's perfect and glossy, and I have the perfect music and the perfect marketing, I will fizzle out and I won't have the motivation to do it. And I'll probably chicken out as well, because like I said, I can't stand this out in my voice and I can't stand to speak in front of other people because I feel like I sound like an idiot hillbilly, and I have major brain fog. I don't know if that's because I smoked. Um, we out of a aluminum bowl,<laugh> a homemade aluminum bowl when I was a teenager or I don't know, maybe it's mom brain, but this is the beginning of a new chapter. I am here to teach you fellow introverts, how you can maintain your ways and you don't have to sell your soul and you don't have to change who you are. You can find your path of least resistance doing what you love and not getting stuck in the rat race and going against your true nature. So that is the first episode. And I'm sending you all, all my love. I hope this helps.
